The small adverts that you see at the top of Google search results are a powerful, quick and easy way to get your business to the top of the search engine and in front of customers. There are however limited situations in which we recommend using them as often search engine optimisation is a more cost-effective and longer-term way of bringing customers to your site.
How they work
Quite simply, you pay Google to put your business advert and link to your web site above your competitors. This can be a useful method for bringing in people to your web site if you are just starting out and your web site has not yet had the chance to climb the rankings naturally using SEO techniques. However, the system behind Adwords is quite complex and it can be daunting for some, which is where we come in.
There are of course costs to advertising this way and Google will charge you each time someone clicks on your advert - regardless of whether they end up buying from you or not, so if not done properly it can be a quick way to lose a lot of money.
